Owned several styles SAABs since 1977. Currently own a 1969 Sonett V-4 I’ve had since the early 90s. I’ve worked on all, pulled motors, swapped out intakes, gearboxes, rebuilt carbs, hung exhausts. But I’m older now. With my current equipment , I’ve removed the nose of the 69, pulled the motor, put a Jack Lawrence rebuilt gearbox in, n an MMS exhaust, installed new clutch master. Because Hurricane (Irma) our house had to come down, so everything was reassembled and the car moved to a new location. Last year I got everything hooked up, drove the car, found the Alternator wasn't putting out required voltage, replaced same and voltage regulator. The car ran fine. Currently, I’m dealing with some oil leaks and running rich. I replaced the 34ich with new, but I still can’t seem to lean it out. If I had the skills, n knew what I was doing I’d rebuild motor I’d like to keep my current 1500cc motor with matching numbers, and find a rebuilt V-4 to put in. I think I could do that again, lol!
